Generally, my experience is, that families cook meals according to what their children will like and eat often with the result that family meals end up short on certain ingredients, selective shopping and dishes being discarded. I am of the opinion that no child will ever starve him or herself. We have 3 children who are not fussy at all because, they have all been offered the same dishes as adults are served. When they were babies, I would cook them the same meal for everyone…though taking a bit aside for a mash and leaving out the spices. But generally, they have been offered the same vegetables, stables, meats and tastes that everyone else has been offered. It has easened my life as well as the kids’, as today, they eat the same as everyone else, we can visit whichever household and not be picky, we can go to whichever restaurant and they will pick and chose from the ordinary menu, food is always available to their liking no matter where we are in the world and most importantly – they will eat whatever I cook without making a fuss and without me having to think about extra menus and whether they get their required vitamins. In this way, I can easily incorporate what ever vegetables, meats, stables, dinner left overs etc. in whichever meal I cook helping me cooking up whichever meal I wish ensuring keeping waste to a minimum. Ensuring that the children are brought up with a broad palet is a huge help to any household – not least on a budget.
